The winner of Biggest Loser Families is…

December 17, 2008 · Filed Under Episode Recaps, The Biggest Loser, Weight Loss Tips · Comment

Hi Everyone,

Biggest Loser Families Finale started out tonight with the elimination of either Heba or Ed.  In case you forgot, America voted which of the two they wanted to see in the final three.  When Heba and Ed came on the stage, I must admit, I gasped.  They really have done an amazing job with their weight loss.  My husband was so surprised at how pretty Heba is.  In a very surpising turn of events, 84% of America chose Ed!  Is that because they think Ed can’t win and they don’t like either of them?  I have no idea.  So the final three contestants are Vicky, Michelle and Ed.

The first four “at home” contestants were next out on the stage.  Adam and Stacey lost a good deal of weight, but Tom and Tom Jr. didn’t look like they lost as much.  I think its going to be pretty tough to beat Heba’s weight loss, but we’ll see.

Adam is the first one to be weighed.  He lost 80 pounds for a total percentage weight loss of 23.5.  Stacey lost 65 pounds for a total percentage of 29.41.  Next up is LT with a loss of 87 pounds and a total percentage weight loss of 24.37.  Tom, LT’s father, lost 78 pounds and a total percentage weight loss of 24.84 percent.  This puts Stacey in the lead for the $100,000 prize.

Colleen and Jerry and Shellay and Amy are the next four out on the stage.  These four lost a ton of weight!  Remember that Jerry’s inner age was 76 years old when he started on the show?  Now Dr. H. says his inner age is 52 which is very close to his real age of 51!  Losing weight is about getting healthy…looking great is just a bonus.

On the scale next is Jerry.  He lost 115 pounds for a total percentage weight loss of 30.26.  Woohoo Jerry!!! Colleen lost 64 pounds for a total percentage weight loss of 29.36.   Shellay lost 74 pounds for a total percentage weight loss of 34.26.  Amy lost an amazing 104 pounds with a total percentage weight loss of 43.51.  Amy is now the one to beat.

Next up are Philip, Amy, Brady, Heba and Renee.  Philip doesn’t even look like Philip anymore and his wife Amy looks great too!  Philip weighs in with a weight loss of 151 pounds with a total percentage weight loss of 45.62…wow!  Amy P. lost 105 pounds with a total percentage weight loss of 45.85.  That’s an incredible weight loss.  Brady lost 171 pounds with a total percentage weight loss of 34.31.  This isn’t enough to beat Amy P.  She’s currently in the lead.  Renee lost 106 pounds with a total percentage weight loss of 39.70.  Amy P.  still holds the lead with only Heba left to weigh.  Heba lost 138 pounds giving her the win over Amy P.  She walks away with $100,000.

By the way, hostess Allison Sweeney is very pregnant.  I don’t know how she wore those high heeled shoes!

Okay, now on to the final three contestants and the crowning of the Biggest Loser.  After reminiscing about their individual journey’s, the three come out on the stage.  Ed comes out first.  We saw him at the beginning of the show.  He’s lost a lot of weight.  Next on stage is Vicky.  She also lost a lot of weight, but it still doesn’t make me like her!  Michelle comes out last and of course they saved the best for last.  She can go right out and get a modeling job!

Ed is the first of the three to be weighed.  He lost a total of 139 pounds for a total percentage of weight loss of 41.49 percent.  Vicky lost a total of 101 pounds for a total percentage of weight loss of 41.06.  She lost to Ed by 1 pound!  Michelle is last up.  She lost 80 pounds before leaving the ranch.  She needs to lose more than 100 pounds to beat Ed and win $250,000. Michelle lost 110 pounds and became the newest winner of Biggest Loser.  Nice to walk away with $250,000 and a weight loss of 110 pounds isn’t it?  Yay for Michelle!  She was so nice and really deserved to win.

Allison announces the next season of Biggest Loser will start on January 6th.  Once again, it will start with couples/families.  One of the contestants is the biggest to ever be on the show and one of the couples are the oldest to ever compete.  So enjoy the holidays, stay tuned and I will see you back here in just a few weeks!  Bloggergal1

I Found a Cool Weight Loss Website

Hi everyone,

I found this website that I think you might find useful.  It’s called Weight View (www.weightview.com).  You go there, upload a picture of yourself and you receive a photo of what you’d look like if you reached your goal weight.  I haven’t had the chance to do it yet, but it looks like fun.

One more day until the finale of Biggest Loser Families…stay tuned…Bloggergal1

Biggest Loser Families Finale Airs Tuesday Night

Hi Everyone!  Happy Sunday!

It’s finally time for the finale!  Tuesday’s show will start with either Ed or Heba being eliminated.  As y’all know, America voted.  I’m not sure which way this will go.  Did most people think to keep Ed because they know he can’t win or did they decide to keep Heba because she has a chance to win?

All the contestants come back for the finale for one last weigh-in to compete for the At Home prize of $100,000.  The person that lost the highest percentage of weight will walk off with that cool prize.

Then we are down to the final three:  Vicky, Michelle and either Ed or Heba.  Weight loss is all that matters now, as they do their final weigh in and the winner of Biggest Loser Families is revealed.  I think all of America is rooting for Michelle and hoping and praying that Vicky DOES NOT become the Biggest Loser.  Only time will tell…so stay tuned…Bloggergal1

Biggest Loser Heads Toward the Finish Line

December 10, 2008 · Filed Under Episode Recaps · 1 Comment

Hi Everybody!

Last night’s Biggest Loser started by showing Michelle missing her mom.  I miss her too!  In the meanwhile, the Blue team were jumping up and down on the bed like a bunch of babies.  Does production stage these silly scenes?

Next up are the team meetings with their trainers.  Jillian consoles and encourages Michelle.  Bob is concerned that Vicky is too concentrated on the game and not learning anything about staying healthy and in shape.  That’s understandable–her attitude is terrible.

Bob meets with his team in the kitchen to give some more healthy eating tips.  Vicky admits that her children eat NO vegetables and that she feeds them mostly “take out” food.  She doesn’t even know if her children know what broccoli is.  Hmm.

Allison brings the final four a mystery box.  When they open it, it’s filled with their clothes from the beginning of the season.  The contestants try on some of the items showing how much weight they’ve lost and then decide to burn them.  As they watch the clothes burn, they make a vow to never gain back the weight.

Next up is the final four’s challenge.  It takes place on a race car track.  Each contestant must put on weight bands that equal the amount of weight they lost on each week’s show.  After making it around the track for a lap, they are able to remove the amount of weight they lost each week.  So, in other words, if Heba lost 10 pounds the first week, she is able to remove a weight band that weights 10 pounds.  The prize is Biggest Loser planned meals until the finale and also $10,000.  Ed takes an early lead and Michelle is right behind him.  However, she never catches him and he wins pretty easily.  Not a very exciting challenge.

Since we are down to the final four, each one gets to reminisce about their journey on the Biggest Loser Families.  It is amazing to see how much they’ve changed both physically and emotionally.  Of course there are lots and lots of tears.

The last chance workouts are so different now than they were at the beginning, aren’t they?  Everyone works their butts off because they see the changes in themselves and they know how important it is not to fall below that yellow line.

Weigh-ins:  Vicky lost 6 pounds.  Heba lost 7 pounds.  Ed GAINS 2 pounds.  Wow, how the heck did that happen?  Michelle lost 9 pounds.  I was so happy for her!  This puts Heba and Ed below the yellow line.  As we all knew, Allison tells the contestants that America will decide who is eliminated.  Heba and Ed tape messages saying why they should be in the final three.  Now its up to us to decide.

After another 15 minutes of memories, the final four pack up and head for home.  This way too long show comes to a close.  Next week’s finale will be live.  Stay tuned…Bloggergal1

Biggest Loser Viewers Get Their Say This Week

December 7, 2008 · Filed Under The Biggest Loser · 1 Comment

Hi Everyone…Happy Sunday!

There are only 9 days left to the Biggest Loser finale.  We are down to the final four:  Heba, Ed, Vicky and Michelle.  This week we, the viewers, get to vote who is eliminated.  I think it’s pretty obvious that if Vicky falls below that line, she’s outta there!  My opinion is that Michelle is safe this week no matter what because I can’t imagine that “America” would vote her off.

This week will have a peek into this past season showing all the ups and downs (yes, pun intended!)  The challenge involves wearing a suit that weighs the amount of pounds each contestant lost.  I think that sounds interesting because originally they were carrying that around all the time!

Have a great day…stay tuned…Bloggergal1

Who are Biggest Loser’s Final Four?

December 3, 2008 · Filed Under Episode Recaps, The Biggest Loser, Weight Loss Tips · Comment

Hi Everybody,

New York City here comes the Biggest Loser!  First stop is a hair salon.  Hair cuts, highlights and hair color changes abound.  Next stop is Macy’s with Christian Suriano.  He helps them find new updated styles to match their new updated shapes!  Christian lets them pick their own clothes but when they go to him he nixes everything and picks out clothes for them to wear.  His fashion tip?  A good, stylish shoe in basic black is a must.   To add to that…my dad always said if your shoes are shined and clean you will make a good impression.

The contestants appear on the Tyra Banks show.  Michelle comes out first and is surprised with a reunion with her dad.  Next to come out is Renee.  She talks to Tyra about how amazing it is to reconnect with her daughter through the show.  Then out comes Renee’s husband (awww!!!).  Next to appear is my favorite contestant (NOT) Vicky.  I think they put a bit too much makeup on her.  Tyra surprises her with her sister.  Heba is up next.  She’s surprised with her brother who has promised to take her on a trip.  Last is Ed who is surprised with his dad.  Christian surprises all the contestants with $1000 gift cards from Macy’s.

After the show, the contestants go to Times Square and guess who pops up on the huge screen?  Yep, Jillian and Bob to tell them just because they are in New York doesn’t mean they are on vacation.  The next day all the contestants manage to get in a little exercise while spending time with their “loved one”.

Back in Los Angeles, the contestants meet with their coaches.  There is a lot of concern that they might have had too much fun and not put in enough work.  The night’s challenge is to hang in a glass cube 15 feet above water for as long as possible.  The winner gets a spa vacation.  Vicky quits almost immediately but is really afraid to jump into the water.  Heba drops into the water after about 18 minutes.  Ed after saying “sorry” drops next.  Once again its mother against daughter.  Renee drops to allow Michelle to win.  But Vicky is still sitting up on the side of the box afraid to drop.  She carries on and cries and cries and finally jumps into the water when Ed goes into the water to coax her.  I think she always has to be the center of attention but the show makes it look like she’s had some major breakthrough.  Okay, whatever.

The last chance workouts have all the contestants working really hard because they know how important this weigh in will be.  First up at weigh-in is Vicky.  She lost 4 pounds this week.  Renee lost 4 pounds.  Michelle lost 5 pounds.  Ed lost 3 pounds.  This puts him below the yellow line.  Heba lost 7 pounds.  This puts Renee below the yellow line.  With three votes against her, it looks like Renee will be heading out the door tonight.   But it all depends on Vicky.  Will she get rid of one of her own alliance and vote off Ed or will she stick with her alliance and vote off Renee?  Of course Michelle votes to eliminate Ed and Heba votes to eliminate Renee.  Vicky sticks with her alliance and votes off Renee.

So that leaves us with the final four…husband and wife team, Heba and Ed; Vicky and the only black team member Michelle.  Now the weight loss is what matters the most.  Go, Michelle!!!  There is just one more week before the finale.  Stay tuned!  Bloggergal1
