New Show Combines Biggest Loser With Dancing With the Stars
Hi Everyone,
There’s a new show being taped this week in Hollywood titled “Dance Your Ass Off”. It combines the Biggest Loser with Dancing with the Stars. Hosting this new, high-energy dance competition is Dancing with the Stars semifinalist and Tony Award winning Hairspray actress Marissa Jaret Winokur. The show will feature contestants paired with a professional dancer competing in front of celebrity judges coupled with the weight loss competition similar to The Biggest Loser. Sounds like fun! Okay…to watch…not to compete!

No Biggest Loser Update–Oops!
Hi,
Okay, I’ll admit it…I didn’t watch Biggest Loser last night and guess what? The DVR didn’t tape it! I thought I had it set right but when you change channels sometimes it stops taping, oh well. I planned to watch first thing this morning, but its not online yet so I still haven’t seen it. I did watch American Idol last night though. I can’t lie, I enjoy watching American Idol more than I enjoy Biggest Loser. Biggest Loser is looonnnngggg an can be a bit boring.
Me and my Wii
Happy Sunday!
I have to tell you about my newest toy. Santa brought me the Wii including Wii Fitness. I asked Santa for it, so I wasn’t surprised. But what I am surprised over is how much I love it and am addicted to it! For those of you who aren’t familiar, when you first start up your Wii you get to make yourself a little Mii. This can be someone that looks like you or maybe looks like you want to look. It’s all up to you. I’m very attached to my Mii.
The Wii fitness is divided up into different sections. There’s yoga, strength exercises, aerobics and balance games. When you first start Wii fitness, it tests you and tells you what kind of shape you’re in. Of course, I came out overweight (BMI of 26.4) and a Wii fitness age of 57 (I’m 49). Not too bad I suppose. Then its time to start checking out the different areas. Well, it just so happens my 17 year-old son did this before me. Also, it just so happens that the Wii keeps track of how well you do on various games and exercises and rates you…First Place, Second Place, etc. And…it just so happens I am very competitive…even when trying to best “my baby”! LOL So what does all that mean? That every muscle in my body hurts today. But, I do have a couple of First Places to brag about. On the whole, my son is kicking my butt, but I did say he’s 17 years-old, didn’t I? Did I mention that he snowboards usually around once a week? and lifts weights? and jogs on the treadmill? Enough said.
I think that the Wii is a great addition to my fitness routine. I still walk almost every single day for close to an hour and now I work out on the Wii for at least 30 to 45 minutes too. One of the aerobic activities is a simple jog, but wow its harder than I thought. When I’m doing this one, I think of the contestants on the Biggest Loser. My legs will be burning and my heart pounding, but I pretend I’m on the show and I want to win and I just keep on going. It gets me through it. The jogging isn’t one of my favorite activities. I really like the step activities. You have to follow along up and down and sideways on the step. It’s a combination of rhythm and stamina and a bit of balance. Speaking of balance, those games are super difficult. I never realized how unbalanced I am until now. The Wii doesn’t pull any punches, it tells you how lousy or how good you are at each activity.
So, I guess my point is that you have to find interesting, fun things to do to keep you moving. This works for me, but maybe a Richard Simmons DVD will work for you? Experiment and vary your workouts and you’ll have a better chance of keeping at it! See you Tuesday…stay tuned…Bloggergal1
Biggest Loser Week 3
Hi!
This week starts with all the contestants upset because they had to vote Jerry off last week. Jerry asked to be voted off so that 19 year-old Dan could stay. The remaining contestants are already fed up with Joelle.
Contestants had to face a temptation. There was a table filled with very fattening foods like pizza and donuts. Each contestant spent time in the room alone. This same temptation was given to the partner at home. The team that eats the most calories wins the temptation and gets to go home with their personal trainer. Of course the question was eat and risk gaining or don’t eat and give up the chance to go home and see each other. The Blue team’s Sione (at home) ate 960 calories The Silver team’s Carla (at home) at 2710 calories. Yes, Joelle and Carla get to see each other and work out with Bob, but how could it be worth it? All the contestants (and me too!) think they really aren’t trying at all.
Bob and Joelle head off to her home in Detroit. They sit down with Carla and Bob tells her about how Joelle keeps pushing his buttons. Carla and Joelle end up fighting at the workout with Bob. Bob just stands there listening. LOL At dinner, Carla tries to reach Joelle but she has a wall built around herself. BTW, Carla’s house is awesome!
The Biggest Loser challenge is a classic. Each contestant must jump over the beam as it swings towards them. The winner gets immunity. Joelle doesn’t even make it over the beam once! Ron is eliminated after one jump! Dan makes it two jumps. Helen is eliminated next. Damien is eliminated after 57 jumps. Filipe makes it to 105 jumps. Mandi is eliminated at 141 jumps. Dane is eliminated at 701 jumps. Left jumping area Kristen and Tara. They’ve been jumping for over 2 hours and its over 90 degrees outside! Amazing! Kristen loses at 1030 jumps and 2 hours, 19 minutes. Tara wins immunity for the second time in a row. Kristen tried so hard, it was sad to see her lose.
At the weigh-ins, Tara loses 8 pounds this week. Since she has immunity, she’s good either way. Helen lost 6 pounds. Mandi lost 8 pounds. Joelle lost 6 pounds. Filipe lost 14 pounds. Those men and their weight loss (pfttt!!!). Mike and Ron (brown team) lost a combination of 20 pounds. Blaine and Dane (black team) lost a combination of 30 pounds. Damien lost only 4 pounds putting him below the yellow line. Dan lost 15 pounds…so much better than last week! Kristen lost 7 pounds. This puts Joelle below the yellow line. The vote for elimination was mixed with Joelle receiving 4 votes and Damien receiving 4 votes. Damien, having the lowest percentage of weight loss is eliminated. I have to say I was surprised, but I do understand that some of the contestants could see how much Joelle and Carla need to lose the weight and stay in the game.
Damien and Nicole are doing great at home. Next week, the partners return to the ranch so stay tuned! Bloggergal1

Biggest Loser Dreaded Week 2
Hi Everyone,
I’m back from my vacation, but maybe I left a part of me on the boat! I messed up and didn’t tape the first hour of last night’s Biggest Loser! I’ll fill in once NBC puts the episode on the Internet. If anyone out there would like to guest blog and fill in for me–please comment. I would really appreciate it. I’m a bit behind after being away from home for a week.
Bob and Jillian work the contestants hard during the last chance workout because week 2 is notoriously the week where you don’t lose much weight. My favorite part was when big, tough guy Dane admitted that Jillian scared him. LOL This group of contestants seem really determined and push themselves past their limits. The exception to the rule is Joelle from Bob’s team. She seems to have some kind of mental block that is preventing her from doing what she needs to do.
Weigh-ins: Tara from Jillian’s team lost only 1 pound. Fortunately for her, she has immunity. Next up is the Black team. Blaine lost 16 pounds and Dane lost 14 pounds. They beat the week 2 curse! Mandy (yellow team) lost 6 pounds. Helen (pink team) lost 8 pounds. Mike lost 7 pounds and Ron lost 12 pounds (brown team). Damien lost 9 pounds (red team). Kristen lost 10 pounds (purple team). Filipe lost 9 pounds (blue team). Joelle lost 2 pounds (silver team). She definitely is undermining herself. I wonder why? Jerry lost 1 pound (white team). It was so sad to see how everyone reacted. You can tell that Jerry is well liked by everyone. I think it has to be very hard to lose weight as you get older. Daniel lost 3 pounds, but he has a one pound penalty. I was really surprised that was all he lost considering he weighs the most. The two that fell below the yellow line were Jerry (white) and Daniel (orange).
It was really tough for the contestants to choose between the two because they both need to lose the weight and they are both such good guys. Jerry was eliminated. Everyone agreed 19 year-old Daniel needed to remain at the ranch.
Jerry and Estelle are doing great and losing weight at home. Jerry has had a check-up and most of his symptoms/illnesses are gone. It’s amazing what exercise and weight loss does for your body!
So, that’s it for this week. Have a great week…stay tuned. Bloggergal1
Biggest Loser Couples Or Not?
Hi Everyone!
Sorry I missed the premiere of the newest season of Biggest Loser. This blog gives a quick recap of last week’s show. BTW, the cruise was awesome!
The Biggest Loser Couples started out with 11 couples. There were cousins, a married couple, an engaged couple, parent and child couples, and of course best friend couples. The couples are sent to the gym to work out on their own, prior to meeting the trainers. Jerry (the old guy) gets sick and passes out. He ends up at the hospital. His blood pressure dropped when he started exercising causing him to faint. Not a good sign for his health condition, huh?
To divide the teams up, Jillian and Bob picked one team each. After that each team picked got to pick the next team. The 11th team was able to decide if they wanted to go with Jillian or Bob. They chose Bob (Surprise! Surprise!)
The first challenge takes place on a bridge. To cross the bridge, the contestants have to climb up 250,000 pounds of sand. Both team members must reach their color flag and then return to the start together to finish. The top five teams compete in a second heat. There are three heats. The final heat is between the Yellow team and the Black team. The team who wins gets immunity. The black team beats the yellow by a speck.
In a twist, Allison announces that the only safe couples are the Black team (Dane & Blaine) because they have immunity and the couple who loses the most weight. All other couples must choose one person to go home…sending nine players home. The Silver team lost 24 pounds combined. The Orange team lost 46 pounds combined. The red team lost 35 pounds combined. The white team lost 34 pounds combined. The blue team lost 40 pounds combined. The yellow team lost 25 pounds combined. The purple team lost 31 pounds combined. The pink team lost 25 pounds combined. The green team lost 34 pounds. The brown team lost 54 pounds combined. With the percentages taken into consideration, the brown team wins the weigh off and both of them get to stay in the game.
Each couple must decide who stays and who goes home. At the end of 30 days, if your teammate is still on the show, the partner gets to come back on. I don’t agree with this at all. Why call the show Biggest Loser Couples when there are actually no couples? I guess we’ll see where they are going with this soon enough.
I’ll be back later on tonight with this week’s episode recap. Stay tuned….Bloggergal1
The Biggest Loser Couples starts tomorrow!
Hey everyone! BBBlogger from Big Brother Blog here just checkin in with everyone here at The Biggest Loser blog to remind you that the fun starts up once again Tuesday, January 6th at 8:00p.m. EST/7:00p.m. CST
2 seasons back it was Biggest Loser: Couples then in the fall they switched it to Biggest Loser:Families and well…they are back at calling it the Biggest Loser:Couples. I have really enjoyed the last 2 shows. Very inspiring and very emotional. Also, the last 2 have been won by one of the females so will another lady repeat? Guess we will see.
With this season having the heaviest person yet. As shown on the previews the heaviest person is 454 lbs and only a kid at 19 years of age. It should be interesting to see how he is able to hang with everyone else as the game is played. Also they had shown someone passing out on the treadmill…should be a great start. Here is a short preview I grabbed from YouTube.
So…watch the show, comment your thoughts and thank you for being a part of the Biggest Loser Blog!
Peace, BBBlogger (filling in for your regular blogger)
PS: please comment and let us know what you like, dont, and want to see. This is your blog and we are here for you! Peace!
