Hi Everyone,

Do you want to be the next Biggest Loser? Some of the casting calls are over but check out the release below for information on ways to tryout. What’s MORE interesting about this NBC release is that not only are the producers looking for contestants but also for TRAINERS. Are Jillian and Bob heading for the door? It’s a no brainer that NBC needs to do something to inject new interest in The Biggest Loser. Doing the same things, season after season is just not going to keep viewers tuning in. I guess we all have to stay tuned…Bloggergal1

***UPDATED WITH NEW VENUE INFORMATION FOR MIAMI, LOS ANGELES AND SAN DIEGO***

Casting Call Auditions For Season Eight To Be Held in New York City, Oklahoma City, Louisville, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Miami, Columbus, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Diego

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – February 9, 2009 – NBC’s popular reality series “The Biggest Loser” is launching a 14-city cross-country search to find new contestants for the next edition of the hit show. Both individuals and teams are encouraged to apply for the new season, which will air in the fall. To keep creative options open for the new season, producers are also looking for certified trainers.

Outgoing and charismatic individuals or teams of two are encouraged to apply, especially those who have the personality, desire and competitive edge to vie for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lose weight, change their lives forever and compete for a grand prize of $250,000. Teams can include family members (siblings, cousins, parent and adult child, etc.), spouses, dating or engaged couples, grandparents, co-workers, former teammates or athletes, best friends and college students. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and legal residents of the United States.

Producers are also looking for certified trainers with strong personalities who have a solid track record of taking the weight off of overweight clients. Nutritional credentials are a plus, and trainers applying must provide references.

While they will try to see everyone, “The Biggest Loser” casting teams will do their best to see the first 500 people in line. People will not be allowed to line up prior to three hours before the start of the open call. Candidates should bring a non-returnable photo of themselves (and their partners if applying as a team).

I dont think this is Bob & Jillian leaving, I saw a report about a “trainer” from TBL that got into trouble, and since Bob & Jillian are only there a couple days a week (according to an article I read – so who knows if thats true) – I think they have other staff trainers around working with the people. But who knows. Occasionally it would be nice to see behind the curtain so to speak on what really happens. But I doubt B&J are leaving, unless they are tired of the “game” interfering with what they are really trying to do.
On another topic – anyone notice that I think 50% of the “winners” have put 50-100% of their weight back on? The first winner did, Matt did, Eric was on Oprah and hes regained +100 lbs. Ali and hopefully Michelle wont fall into that.

Thanks for the info Sue! It makes sense that Bob and Jillian only work with the contestants a few times a week (probably when the camera is rolling).

I can understand that the winners put the weight back on. I know how hard it is for me to just keep five pounds off after losing, I can’t imagine how hard it would be if someone gave me a really lot of money. I’d probably be cruising and eating! Weight is such an issue for us all isn’t it? We eat when we’re bored. We eat when we’re stressed. We eat when we’re happy. The list just goes on and on. Bloggergal1
